Visual Diary

Dear Visual Diary...
Being a student at the University of South Carolina, I find myself getting accustomed to the south. I was originally born in New Jersey and moved shortly to Pennsylvania when I was four. I am constantly surrounded by my family, faith, color, and friends. I've always loved color. It wasn't until I took a visual class in high school that I developed a liking to visual art. I had always thought I would be some sort of designer starting with fashion to interior and now visual/graphic design. Ever since then I have started paying attention to the little details put together by designers. I became infatuated with magazines and soon aspired to be a magazine layout designer. Once again that has changed to wanting to work in a business's creative field. So I am currently a visual communcations major with a graphic design minor.

I have just started my daily routine at my new internship in the USC Housing Department. I am one of their design interns and work with them in designing all their publications needed like flyers, posters, powerpoint slides, cards, invitations, labels (for the new WEPA Kiosks) and it goes on. I am an avid user of Photoshop, Illustrater, and Indesign. I've also had to use i-movie to put together pictures for my last internship at Briefs Magazine.

I got my first DSLR last Christmas (2010) and am in love with it. I have always loved taking pictures and had a huge fascination with DSLRs and now I want to take pictures of everything. Then I took my first photography class (337) and started to enjoy taking pictures (mainly of people but some nature oriented things). It was also a huge part of enhancing my experience when I traveled to Munich, Germany with the Journalism School last May (2011). I was able to capture my precious moments, I hope to never forget.

My camera I use is a DSLR Pentax K-x.

This picture was taken by my sister, Sami for her blog for Kembrel.com.
